The UHaul wiring was repaired on Saturday morning and Tim and I were on the road to La Crosse. The driving was the toughest of the trip, though the terrain had flattened out. We had 30-40 mph winds all day Saturday, hitting us from the south and east; basically on our right side and in the face. Needless, to say with a rig composed of my 4-door pickup towing a 6X12 trailer (all together 40 feet long), it was two-fisted driving all day:)

It was fun to talk to Tim on the cell as we got closer and closer to his stomping grounds. His excitement was tangible. He's been sad to leave friends, a job he liked (but that was ending) and the hustle and bustle of San Francisco, but there's something special about returning to the home you grew up in and own. He was happy to be back.

An "institutional M&M" - As we passed through Austin, Minnesota, we drove by the Spam Museum (and they don't mean unwanted email). I called BlueDevilSF, evidently a Spam fan, to let him know we were thinking of him.

The interior of his house was in good shape, the exterior needing lots of love and attention. I believe Tim was pleased that the condition of the house was about what he expected. We unloaded his belongings from my truck and the UHaul, sorted the boxes and furniture into the appropriate rooms and bought a few items to get Tim back in the business of enjoying his home once again.

I hurt my back again and the lower right quadrant is in spasm, but I think, with rest, the pain will subside. I hope so. We have another 1100 miles to drive beginning Tuesday morning. Tomorrow will be about getting Tim's house further organized and the yard in shape. The real estate agent did not follow through on maintenance of the yard as agreed to last August and the grass is thigh-high. We'll remedy that tomorrow and also grab a couple of items from Tim's storage unit.

We had a nice celebratory meal tonight. Good Italian food. We've done some laundry. Now - 10 days and 3479 miles later, we have a chance to relax. So, goodnight from Wiissscccahnssssin!

Yay!!!

Glad you two made it to Wisconsin!

I can imagine the 2 fisted driving with the winds and your rig. But you two made it and that's all that counts.

Sorry to hear about your back. Take care of it my friend.

As I told Tim in one of his posts that Targe is indeed a good store to shop.

Glad all's well.
