HAHAHA!!! Too funny! I hate these polls/profile things but this one's cute!
To me: 'general American English' implies the puritans that came overhere and landed on the Eastern seaboard! Ugghh, God! Why??? :0) Are you a puritan, Neil? I've met a few on here! :( Io no capisco puritan! Io capisco meglio putana! :0) ... but i digress.

You back on the road? D'you get my post about possibly getting together in Houston?

Have to great new run, papi! Break a leg!

I'm still at home till Monday morning, but I won't be in Houston this visit. I live 75 miles out toward Austin and there's alot of family stuff going on. My nephews' prom, my niece is going to the Ring Dance at A&M, my sister is coming here tonight after a Science Olympiad competition, my sister-in-law and I are celebrating are belated birthdays ... all of this and I'm still not feeling great. I couldn't even find time to see my two closest friends in Houston...damn.... maybe next time, mi amigo...

I assumed by "General American English" that they meant that bland pronunciation/useage like they teach broadcasters:)! Hugs!

To me "General American English" is what I have been accused of often, having a "Flat" accent. Meaning when I speak people can't tell where I grew up.

Oh, I was'nt aware that you live all the way out there. For some reason, I thought you live in Montrose, sorry! Well, enjoy your break home and have a good trip next week.

General English: I looked again and saw that it was linguistic, not ethnic! Feel stupid at my earlier comments! :)
