My Indoor Voice ...
Jul. 16th, 2007 11:50 amLast night, I attended a late showing of the newest Harry Potter sequel with my nephew Brennan, two of his friends and their father. I enjoyed the film immensely for the following reasons:
*It moved along quickly.
*I didn't miss any of the parts left out from the book, because quite honestly, I can't remember much about the book. (I read it once three years ago:)
* It is as I always suspected, those who wear pink can be evil:)
*Daniel Radcliffe is turning into quite a good little actor.
*Emma Watson, as Hermione, didn't have enough to do to irritate me with her minimal acting skills.
*The actor playing Delores Umbridge was perfect. (I love the closeness of the surname to "umbrage")
*The character (and the actor playing) Luna Lovegood rocked!
*I love all of the wonderful character actors ... and their faces ... Maggie Smith, Robbie Coltrane, Emma Thompson, Julie Walters, the actor who played Willow in "Willow" as Professor Flitwick. (I can't recall his actual name.)
*I was thoroughly entertained! I liked it much more than the past two Harry Potter flicks.
Sometimes when I'm completely absorbed in a movie, I can forget where I am and be a bit too interactive. Toward the end of "The Order of the Phoenix", the head minister, Fudge declares, "He is back!" (referring to Valdemort). Without missing a beat ... and in a moment of complete silence in the theatre ... I replied in a deadpan, sarcastic tone, "Dumbass." To my surprise, everyone in the theatre laughed. I turned to my nephew and said, "I made that comment outside of my head, didn't I?" He continued to laugh his ass off. I've got to remember to use my indoor voice when in the presence of tender ears:)
