A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood
Mar. 26th, 2005 12:09 amWhat a glorious day here in the Bay Area? Just before lunch, I walked a block up hill to California Street and took pictures of several landmark buildings. I got amazing photos of the Trans-America Tower, The Fairmont and Mark Hopkins Hotels and Grace Cathedral. I try to pay attention to details, to be aware of my surroundings, to revel in the diversity of human behavior. For example, I smiled as a young man came out the front door of the Fairmont with his sleek dachshund on a leash; I chuckled as I observed the dog doing his necessary business on the well-maintained grounds; I nodded with approval as the well-dressed man got out a baggie and picked up the results. I looked away for a second, but turned back just in time to see the guy drop the bag of dog doo in a postal mail box and hurry away. AH, a beautiful day in the neighborhood:)!
Later, in our sandbox called the Golden Gate Theater, I played well with others. We rehearsed a number for the Club Fugazi Benefit at 6pm. I didn't have time for dinner before the show; so when our dance captain Gia told me that her parents had brought cookies and they were in the basement, I hopped on the elevator. I grabbed a couple and took them to my room where I consumed them. It is my theory, that if cookies are dinner, then the calories are good and nutritious. It is also my opinion, that if no one sees you eat a cookie, then it doesn't count:) SO, when my friend Mary asked me if I had had time for dinner, I said no. She said, "You didn't have time to eat anything?" I replied no. Mary grinned and said, "Well, since you didn't have time to eat, I guess I won't tell you that you have chocolate chip smeared on your lip." Busted!
We had a nice bit of financial news last night. Our contract calls for profit-sharing under our "Special Agreement", but it rarely happens since the actors are the last ones to see "overage". We get extra money in our paychecks only after every one else who has a piece of the pie is paid. We got overage for the two weeks in Los Angeles in last night's pay which means the run there was very successful indeed. What an unexpected and nice surprise!
Finally, I had a wonderful time Thursday evening dining with RickSF (Rick) and Bearhound (Bert) who came to see "Evita". I really enjoyed my pre-show time with the guys. Thanks Bert for dinner! I took a couple of pictures of the handsome duo at dinner and one back stage and made copies today to give to their equally handsome partners. Thanks guys, for coming to the show and back stage after! I look forward to getting to know you better.
All in all, it was a beautiful day in the neighborhood. I'd ask you all of the Mr Rogers questions, but I'm sure you already know the drill:) I'm feelin' real Texan tonight, so I'll just say "Good night, Buckaroos"!

Date: 2005-03-26 12:34 pm (UTC)2nd: Talk about homesick!... That pit-chur says it AWWL, TEX!!! LOL!
I'm sorry, but I've got to ask if your Wranglers (I hope you have Wranglers on???) are creased or not - PLEASE say NO!!! If you say yes, the BRB may not be here when you come back! LOL!!!
Birthday present:
"... Don't close your eyes,
Let it be me,
Don't pretend it's him
In some fantasy
Darlin', just once
Let yesterday go
You'll find more love
Than you'd ever known
Just hold me tight
When you love me tonight
And don't close your e-e-e-y-e-s..."
What I used to tease my ex with:
"... Don't crease your jeans!
Just let them things be
You'll never know
How ele-gant you will be
Darlin', just once
Let yester-trend go!
You'll be so happy
Than you'd ever know
Just wear'em tight
When you love me tonight
But don't crease your je-e-a-a-n-s!"
:) :) :)
Hugs from H-town!

And congrats on the bonus, that's always nice.
