What a glorious day here in the Bay Area? Just before lunch, I walked a block up hill to California Street and took pictures of several landmark buildings. I got amazing photos of the Trans-America Tower, The Fairmont and Mark Hopkins Hotels and Grace Cathedral. I try to pay attention to details, to be aware of my surroundings, to revel in the diversity of human behavior. For example, I smiled as a young man came out the front door of the Fairmont with his sleek dachshund on a leash; I chuckled as I observed the dog doing his necessary business on the well-maintained grounds; I nodded with approval as the well-dressed man got out a baggie and picked up the results. I looked away for a second, but turned back just in time to see the guy drop the bag of dog doo in a postal mail box and hurry away. AH, a beautiful day in the neighborhood:)!

Later, in our sandbox called the Golden Gate Theater, I played well with others. We rehearsed a number for the Club Fugazi Benefit at 6pm. I didn't have time for dinner before the show; so when our dance captain Gia told me that her parents had brought cookies and they were in the basement, I hopped on the elevator. I grabbed a couple and took them to my room where I consumed them. It is my theory, that if cookies are dinner, then the calories are good and nutritious. It is also my opinion, that if no one sees you eat a cookie, then it doesn't count:) SO, when my friend Mary asked me if I had had time for dinner, I said no. She said, "You didn't have time to eat anything?" I replied no. Mary grinned and said, "Well, since you didn't have time to eat, I guess I won't tell you that you have chocolate chip smeared on your lip." Busted!

We had a nice bit of financial news last night. Our contract calls for profit-sharing under our "Special Agreement", but it rarely happens since the actors are the last ones to see "overage". We get extra money in our paychecks only after every one else who has a piece of the pie is paid. We got overage for the two weeks in Los Angeles in last night's pay which means the run there was very successful indeed. What an unexpected and nice surprise!

Finally, I had a wonderful time Thursday evening dining with RickSF (Rick) and Bearhound (Bert) who came to see "Evita". I really enjoyed my pre-show time with the guys. Thanks Bert for dinner! I took a couple of pictures of the handsome duo at dinner and one back stage and made copies today to give to their equally handsome partners. Thanks guys, for coming to the show and back stage after! I look forward to getting to know you better.

All in all, it was a beautiful day in the neighborhood. I'd ask you all of the Mr Rogers questions, but I'm sure you already know the drill:) I'm feelin' real Texan tonight, so I'll just say "Good night, Buckaroos"!

OMG agiiin!

1st off: Happy belated birthday, Neil!
2nd: Talk about homesick!... That pit-chur says it AWWL, TEX!!! LOL!
I'm sorry, but I've got to ask if your Wranglers (I hope you have Wranglers on???) are creased or not - PLEASE say NO!!! If you say yes, the BRB may not be here when you come back! LOL!!!

Birthday present:
"... Don't close your eyes,
Let it be me,
Don't pretend it's him
In some fantasy
Darlin', just once
Let yesterday go
You'll find more love
Than you'd ever known
Just hold me tight
When you love me tonight
And don't close your e-e-e-y-e-s..."

What I used to tease my ex with:
"... Don't crease your jeans!
Just let them things be
You'll never know
How ele-gant you will be
Darlin', just once
Let yester-trend go!
You'll be so happy
Than you'd ever know
Just wear'em tight
When you love me tonight
But don't crease your je-e-a-a-n-s!"

:) :) :)

Hugs from H-town!

I'm sorry to tell you that I don't own Wranglers. I don't have a Wranglers butt:) However, I appreciate the birthday greeting and the singing. LOL! Thanks!

I had a great time visiting with them and look forward to getting to know them better! Thanks to the live journal picnic last Fall, many fine folk became living breathing realities in my life rather than just 1X1 icons. It's been the real pleasure of playing San Francisco! Hugs!

Again, a great post my friend. Love that icon.

Thanks for the chuckles this morning as I sit here drinking coffee awaiting for my headache to subside (yes, I did take some Ibuprofen(tm)). I most especially love the smeared chocolate on your chin and how you got busted. :-)

And congrats on the bonus, that's always nice.

I find it interesting that no one's commented on the dog doo awaiting the mail carrier on that route:) I was kind of shocked, but it didn't dawn on me till after the fact, that I had actually seen what I had seen:) Have a Happy Easter!

Well then shame on the guy for putting doggie doo in the mail box then! LOL.

Anyhow, have a happy Easter yourself. :-)

I was going to say something about the mail mostly being s**t anyway. :-)

And I second all the positive reviews of the pic in your cowboy hat! Woof!

The picture with the sunglasses was taken when I was in Los Angeles back stage. The shot with the cowboy hat is a few years old; but, hey, it's my favorite, so why not:) Hugs!

ugh! It's not like there isn't a trash can every half block in SF! What a pig.

How much longer will you be in SF?

I was so surprised that it didn't register right away what I'd seen or I probably would have made a fuss:) I'm here with "Evita" through April 10.

Okay, I used to love going to San Francisco almost every single weekend that I had available to me, when I lived on the U.S.S. Carl Vinson CVN-70 which has homeported at N.A.S. Alameda at the time. I wouldn't really do that many things in Alameda, except during the week. I would occasionally leave for San Francisco during one of the weeknights that I had free also. I would take various excursions across the city, using BART, starting off with Embarcadero or Powell and walking across the length of Market to Van Ness, heading north on Van Ness to it's terminus, walking over to Ghirardelli Square then over to North Beach, walking past the Transamerica Pyramid and returning to Embarcadero station. Once, I made the excursion across Market to Castro, and walked down Castro Street. Another time, I walked all the way from the Embarcadero to Golden Gate Park. It certainly depended upon my mood; that was a long walk though. BTW, I really like your new icon. Have I mentioned how much I like men who wear cowboy hats? I am glad to hear that you are having a great time in San Francisco, hugs.

Thanks Sailor! :) My first visit to SF was with my father. We roamed the sites that were particular memories for him from his time in the Navy in 1950-51. It was a wonderful visit and the first time I had ever taken a trip alone with my Dad. I was surprised I had such a good time:)

Thanks for the compliments on the new icon! Hugs!

Fun post…as usual..

Glad you got a good walk in and the “details” were noticed. Life comes at you, you might as well participate. I thought of you last night with a little humor. We in the blog world should start the book for your next performance.

I BLOG, THE MUSICAL

Now all we need are the characters...which will you chose?
