As did the clock, I fell forward too ...
Mar. 12th, 2007 08:59 pmI took a rough fall at the office this morning. My brother Jeff charges his cell phone in a wall plug about three feet from his desk. He usually wraps the phone end of the cord in a loop around a drawer handle on his desk. I'm used to stepping over it. However, early today I was at the copier next to his desk, the phones were ringing off the hook and I forgot.
Jeff said, "Neil, Can you catch the phone quick?" I turned to get the phone in the other room, took two steps and fell over the cord, which in breaking, wrapped completely around my ankle. The dive tore skin off my right ankle, scraped my left knee (industrial carpeting) and tore the charger cord in half!!
After Jeff was certain I hadn't knocked myself out and well ... after he finished laughing, he remembered to ask me if I was okay ...I decided just to lay there on the floor for awhile, milk the fall for sympathy till the giggling died down and decide whether I should sue:)
