Holly Wood to Hollywood:)
Mar. 4th, 2005 01:16 amI realized that I haven't asked the always-correct Divine Bovine (also known as
gotmoof) to post any photos for me since January 1.
Seldom are changes in venues and cities in such stark contrast as the recent jumps from Wallingford, CT to Spokane, Washington to Los Angeles. Last week, I was in an area filled with natural beauty; this week, I'm in the midst of the bright artificiality known as Hollywood. Check out the difference in venues, the scenery and a couple of candid shots from the stage... on and back...
The Spokane Opera House. You can see part of the city's
Riverfront Park reflected in the glass of the theater.

Scenic Spokane, Washington's Riverfront Park.

This photo was taken just before the final Spokane performance on Sunday night.
The pretty lady in the photo was my wonderful dresser Kathi.

I took this photo of Bradley Dean who plays Che in "Evita" during sound check.
And yes... he's always this intense. :) He rocks in the role!

Marquee of the Historic Hollywood Pantages Theater,
host site for the Academy Awards for years.
In the foreground is one of our dancers Halden Michaels,
right after the first performance on Tuesday night.

Pool Side at the West Hollywood Ramada Plaza
(Nick-named by my friends in DC, the "Ram it Inn".)
Wish you were here! No, really!

And how purdy. Rainbow umbrellas by the pool.

Date: 2005-03-04 05:34 pm (UTC)This isn't the favorite stomping ground for our straight crew and musicians either. (I have to admit, I would rather be staying anywhere else...I think the plasticity of the people is contagious:)

Date: 2005-03-04 05:41 pm (UTC)Sounds like I may have quite a crew coming down to see you in Des Moines next year :0
and, Tim is such a great guy. Getting to know him better---just as goofy/moofy as I am :0

Date: 2005-03-04 05:51 pm (UTC)Again, another great photo of you. Mmmm... But that dancer outside the Pantages is yummy too.
Spokane does look like a pretty place and it looked like you had decent weather there. Nice.
Thanks for posting another installment in your "travel" log. :-)

Date: 2005-03-05 07:56 am (UTC)As to the Chinese Philharmonic, it was a huge group. I estimated more than 80 people checked in at once. They seemed very organized. They must have played their concert here, then checked into the hotel, because they left on four buses this morning. I hope you enjoy the concert!! Hugs!

Date: 2005-03-05 08:50 pm (UTC)Combined with your photos, I think it would provide a unique perspective that would appeal to a number of people, both in and out of show biz.
We hear about the stars, but rarely, if ever from the chorus, and NEVER from those on the road.
Go for it!
