Please Grant Me an Ego Moment
Oct. 20th, 2004 06:53 amOccasionally, there is a day when there's extra incentive to be alive and kicking, not just getting through the day as best we can. Yesterday was one of those days for me.
Tim got home safely after a wonderful visit here in NYC; it was Fernando's (bearchitect) birthday; our director/choreographer Larry Fuller treated a couple of us from previous tours of "Evita" to dinner at a wonderful Italian restaurant and best of all, I got a compliment that will forever remain etched in my memory and heart.
I was sitting out in the house of the theatre during a break in the run-through yesterday, just reading the paper and resting, when Larry came up behind me, leaned in over my shoulder and whispered to me, "For what it's worth... Hal just told me he thinks you're simply terrific."
Well, it's worth a lot, Larry....to think that Hal Prince even noticed my work. Like I said, there are some days when it's good to be alive! So, please grant me an "ego moment". They don't come my way that often and it feels good... and inspiring.... I'm pumped now to work even harder!
