Leaving San Francisco
May. 23rd, 2004 01:19 amIt's been a whirlwind couple of days, but BarakSF (Tim) and I have been able to see many friends and get the truck mostly loaded (after 4 flights of stairs, the mattress and box springs just missed fitting in the truck and we carried them back upstairs hoping that Tim (BlueDevilSF) will be able to use them:)
An unexpected surprise was that I was able to work in a few theatrical treats... I saw "Southern Baptist Sissies" by Del Shores of "Sordid Lives" fame on Thursday night; saw the UC-Berkley campus, had two wonderful meals with friends and checked out The Powerhouse and Lone Star on Friday. To my pleasure, I ran into Texas Furr (Jeff) at the Lone Star. Jeff and I are friends from his time in Katy, Texas. He's as handsome as ever.
Today I attended the matinee of the National Tour of "Hairspray" and visited with friends who are with the production; Tim and I then attended a joint classical concert given by the Gay Mens Chorus and Womynsong in the evening.
At the concert, Tim introduced me to Cameron (HandleBear), a very sweet man, and my friend John Musselman did us proud as a soloist. After the concert, John, his partner John who is with the costume shop of the LA Opera, their close friend Tom, Tim and I had a late dinner in the Castro.
It was also rewarding to meet some of the men who have befriended Tim in SF and have made his time here a special one. Good people; good friends!
Tomorrow we go to UHaul here in the Bay area, pick up the tow-dolly, attach Tim's car and head back to Seattle. The plan is to get as far as we can tomorrow night, but be checked into a hotel in time for the 2-hour Alias season finale. We do have our priorities straight (well, at least something is...) LOL!
Till next time...
