Good or Bad ... Happy or Sad...
Sep. 27th, 2004 04:19 pmI've been on the go since early this morning, busy with a number of items that need attention before I leave. In the midst of multi-tasking, while driving, I often use the time to ponder statements, quotations, ideas that I've read or have been mentioned to me.
I had a couple of quotes stuck on stickie notes with me today in my truck. The first is a devastatingly accurate sentence from a meditation, posted by Nashoba Bear in Boston. It has stuck with me as a good definition of a toxic person. The other is a humorous prayer, but as is often the case, the humor comes from truth:)
The quotation from one of Les's posts is a meditation for incest survivors. Here is what it says, "Holding a resentment against someone is like taking poison and waiting for the other person to die."
Much room for thought.....
"Senility Prayer"...
God grant me...
The senility to forget the people I never liked
The good fortune to run into the ones that I do
And the eyesight to tell the difference."
