Thanks to the theater and Eric, the fiddler in the cast, I was insulated from commuting in the ice and snow casserole for the past few days. I spent two nights at the Sheraton and Eric's been giving me rides back and forth to the theater since the buses on my route aren't running. I've taken a few more photos that fill in the features of the face of this winter storm. Even with all of the negative, Seattle has been a bit of a winter wonderland. Click to enlarge the photos!

My favorite photo. Does anyone else see a polar bear
climbing a hill? :) Or is it just a clump of snow on a
branch of a tree ...

I'm glad the image isn't just in my imagination:) It isn't as cold today, but more snow is expected tomorrow. I just wish the buses would start running. I was going to rent a car for two days, but I'm not sure that's a good idea. I have little experience driving in snow.

HUGS!

Yup, saw it right away. Sort of like a big white animal cracker. Oh wait, I'm just hungry for lunch. :) Please, please, please, keep yourself warm and dry and if you can get it start tanking green tea and a cold prep such as airborne, cold eze or the like.

Have a wonderful Christmas baby and big, big hugs.

A big white animal cracker with frosting! :) I've been taking Airborne, Mucinex, Ibuprofen and drinking tea for two weeks. It took the antibiotics I started yesterday to make a difference. You have a wonderful Christmas too, dear friend!

HUGS!

At least since Saturday I've been dawg sitting in the Eastlake neighbourhood. My bus route to my real own residence has been out-of-commission for 11 days!

Decided to swing by the post office today and it took me two hours total to get between Eastlake and Kapitol Hill. I'm well ready for the "winter wonderland" to be over, but they tell us that another storm is due shortly. This is the worst I've ever experienced in Seattle in my fifteen years here.

I'm glad to know that the blizzard-like conditions aren't annual! I just checked the bus routes online. The buses I can take downtown - the 13, 17, 30, the Lake Union Street car are all canceled. I'm on to Plan B .. Phone a friend!

I'm not surprised that it took two hours to get up to Capital Hill! At least, you're nice and cozy while dog-sitting!

Cool picture of the snow polar bear! Good that you still enjoy the snow and ice even with all the traffic mess the snow storm causes.

We had a terrific show this evening.. four inches of snow expected overnight ... Fortunately, we have the next two days off to rest and just stay off the roads if it turns bad again. Thanks for the support!

Merry Christmas!

Like most everyone else, I saw the polar bear even before I read your comment. Aces! It sounds as if you're having a bit of the same weather we are here. Over the weekend we had almost two feet of snow dropped on us. It's a pain in the butt (and not the good kind), but I grudgingly admit that it's pretty. Hope you have a wonderful holiday! Big Hugs!

Thanks, my friend! I hope you got your Christmas card. The mail hasn't been timely here and I've had a difficult time getting things accomplished, but it is on the way. The snow is pretty, but the biggest problem has been the city's response .. they don't believe in the use of salt and the plows have rubber accessories, so they only pack the snow down instead of clearing it. The county uses salt and regular plows and the freeway is clear. Most of the buses aren't running. I'm not certain what I'll be able to do with two days off because of that, but I'll make my own good time. Take good care of yourself!

HUGS!
