It's Day 2 of my surprise trip and it is even hotter:) I spent part of the morning leisurely reading the Sunday paper and the BAR and visiting with Stan. The Bay Area Reporter had a nice article on "Out" athletes in Athens, with a list of several medal winners.

Funny, that list didn't appear in the Houston Chronicle; but then to tell the truth, I didn't know that 1800 protesters were arrested in NYC at the Republican Coronation till I saw it on the internet. I wonder why:)

I helped Stan a bit with the watering of his neighbors many plants (They are on a trip for their anniversary) while he took care of his lush, but thirsty, foliage. Stan wanted to stay around the house this afternoon, so I headed to Haight Street; Stan lives about one block from Ashbury. I had a really nice Thai lunch (pineapple cashew chicken)and headed to Amoeba Records.

I called gotmoof (Tim) and told him where I was, asking for recommendations and if there was anything to add to his play-list. I was a bit distracted by the bears who were out of their cages sunning themselves, but managed to hold up my end of the conversation. LOL!

I did see something that I came to close to buying for Tim. It was a French orchestral CD and I have no idea if the music was quality, but the case artwork is what drew my eye.... a cow standing on an ice berg with snowy mountains in the background. What do you think, Divine Bovine? I did find an appropriate tasteful gift for lowfatmuffin, so, Bob, you'll have to wait till next weekend!

I know this store is a landmark, but it really is an experience on a Sunday afternoon of a holiday weekend. There was a DJ playing, the store was packed, the selection vast. I had to ask for help four times and three times the workers were transsexuals. Funny again- not something I see at a regular basis in Bluebell Ice Cream country:)

I bought my brother a Grateful Dead tee-shirt for his upcoming birthday. It is brown and white and pays tribute to the "sweetness" of the group's concert in Hershey, PA in 1985. That ought to rock his world when he's out with his hunting buddies. HA!

Stan and I are heading to the gym in an hour and then he is dropping me off at the Sundance for their once-a-week country-western dance frolic. It should be fun, but I guess from the lack of response that anyone I might sorta-kinda-know has other plans:) Oh well - asking a stranger to dance has never been a problem with me. It's only when I start to care about someone intimately, that I get protective of my feelings.

I'm posting my horoscope for tomorrow as it will make some of my friends laugh. I maintain that I can be shy in party situations and they've been busting me for that claim. If you're one of those folks, this should make your day......hehehe.

Greetings Neil --

Here is your horoscope for Monday, September 6:

You've never been known (not even for a second) for being shy, so think of today's astrological menu as one more reason to keep on proving your mettle. Just don't frighten anyone unnecessarily.

BOO! Are ya scared yet:)?
