Tuning out the Convention
Sep. 1st, 2004 09:24 pmThe Republicans are trotting out two hoary politicians tonight to smear John Kerry. I don't know who is worse, "Zig-Zag" Zell Miller, an undistinguished Democrat senator known for his flip-flopping on issues (who's speech attacked that quality in Kerry) or Despicable Dick Cheney, our down-right evil vice president. Come to think of it...maybe what's worse is my parents eating it all up and responding enthusiastically. I'm not sure if they are dupes or dopes!
I am just trying to go to a nice quiet place in my head and heart and tune them ALL out:) So, to lighten my mood and perhaps yours, I want to borrow a story from a friend. I hope you get a kick out it!
The preacher's Sunday sermon was "Forgive Your Enemies". He asked how many have forgiven their enemies? About half of the congregation held up their hands.
He then repeated his question. Now about 80 percent held up their hands.
He then repeated the question once again. All responded, except one elderly lady.
"Mrs. Jones, are you not willing to forgive your enemies?"
"I don't have any."
"Mrs. Jones, that is very unusual. How old are you?"
"Ninety-three, " she replied.
"Mrs. Jones, please come down in front and tell the congregation how a person cannot have an enemy in the world."
The little sweetheart of a lady tottered down the aisle, turned to the congregation and said:
"It's easy. I just outlived those bitches."
So, if Bush and his cronies should fool the citizens of this country for a second time, I'll just relax and remember, with a bit of luck, I can just outlive those bitches! LOL!
If Bush rigs yet another election and wins through deceit, in 2008 the damage to our country will be so great ... the abuses of power by this administration so transparent...their sheer stupidity and gall so apparent, that the Republican candidate won't win the White House again for decades.
Be patriotic! Outlive the Bitches!

Date: 2004-09-02 10:49 am (UTC)I’m trying my darndest to avoid anything to do with the RNC. I know, it’s virtually impossible, but my hubby’s getting tired of me stomping around the house, cursing Bush and his Administration, and prattling on endlessly about the latest “scandle” I read about that’s not being covered by any of the tv “news” media.
*sigh*
Dang, now I’m all worked up again*chuckle*.
