I try to pay close attention to the sights around me, as I commute for work or drive to various sales calls around my territory in Southeast Central Texas. Here's a few photos from my drive yesterday. Click to enlarge. Enjoy!

For those who didn't believe ...
Curl Up & Dye really is the hair salon
next to the historic cemetery in La Grange:)

The musk thistles are gorgeous 'til you get right up on them and see what they're comprised of, aren't they? What a scourge..."Beauty of a Beast" is an apt caption indeed for that photo.

There are fields of them, but covered in a web of grey that appears like a spider web until they reveal the beautiful purple. This icon is perhaps one of the best photos I've taken, beautiful, but dangerous to the touch ...

HUGS!

Lovely photos! But it's hard to see a cemetery angel now without thinking of that Doctor Who episode...

Thanks, my friend! I've never seen a Dr. Who episode, but I assume the angel was up to no good:)

HUGS!

How's "Redwood Curtain" going?

You're missing something you'd like if that's the sort of thing you're into!

Episode in question had space aliens that, when anybody was looking at them, were constrained to freeze into stone cemetery-style sculptures but would sneak up on you when you weren't looking. Pretty spooky actually.

RC is getting better. More to the point we're learning to relax into it and not worry when things go boinky. Get on a plane and come see it! Just kidding. You should rent the DVD when it comes out of course. ;)

One of the reasons I've always liked my tours is that in performing the same piece over and over, I can "relax" (as you say) into my role ... into the show ... and be free to discover new things. It's interesting to create within the boundaries of what's been given once you're certain of the lines, blocking and music. With a tour, you have an opening night each week; yet another opportunity to impress:)

As to Dr. Who ... not really my kind of program at all, but now I'm going to look over my shoulder for predatory angels.

HUGS!

ps .. I really would like to see you in a show .. and I look forward to the DVD:)

Thanks! One of these days, we'll go take photos of beautiful flowers together ... once you can work it into book promotion schedule:)

I learned so much in Chapter 14 of "Leonard" about energy. And ..... I can't wait to find out if "Greg" is an evil force and recgonizes a magical presence in Leonard ... or is he perhaps a "Gay" boy searching for a kindred spirit? Can't wait, I tell you! LOL!

HUGS!

Love "Curl up and Dye"! It is the name of the salon in the movie "Earth Girls Are Easy" starring Gina Davis and Jim Carey!

I assumed the name was borrowed; but paired with the location in La Grange, it's pretty awesome wicked! :)

I like flowers to photograph, but I'm not a gardener. The wildflowers, other than the thistle, cover the sides of the road in part because of Lady Bird Johson. It makes Springtime in Texas unique .. about the only time of year I enjoy living here.

Late as usual leaving a comment, and as a result everyone else has prerecorded my thoughts... which are -- great photos, LOVE "Curl Up and Dye" conveniently located next door to a cemetery! Too perfect!

As you might guess, I'm just beginning to catch up (one work project down this weekend - 2 more to go).
What lovely pics !! I needed some springtime cheer.
Was much amused with the beauty shop sign - and the juxtaposition.
The colors of the flowers are beautifully captured in your shots (purple and green are a favorite combo with me). And that's the most striking shot I've ever seen of an Indian paintbrush !
Thanks for the visual good cheer. HUGS!

You're welcome! Thanks for taking the time to go back and catch up on some of my writing. I don't know why it means so much to me to have you read the posts, but it does.

Big HUGS!

I am deeply touched by that last remark. I read your posts because I know it'll be worth the read... and because you're my friend and, in some sort of way, a 'travelling companion'.
I tend to get caught up in whatever it is that's currently making me run from pillar to post. And, perhaps by default, I habitually operate from a position of isolated self-reliance. Sometimes I need the reminder that I mean something to friends, and that I am surrounded by their love. I'm grateful for the reminder.
Big Hugs - talk with you tonight.
