The Magnificent Six!

Since I'm seeing signs of discontent and protest against Live Journal's policies ... and since I'm seeing boycott posts for tomorrow ... and since no one really writes much on the weekends, I better say this now. I am part of a group of men on LJ who share the same birthday. I have come to value each of these men, to admire and respect them as they pursue their inimitable lives. I have great affection for them. Here's to the Magnificent Six who celebrate a Saturday, March 22 birthday!

becker_boy .. I haven't heard much from Steve in recent months; Not only do we share a birth day, we share a birth year. We're two hours apart in age! Steve, I hope you're reading and knowing I'm out here wishing you well!

texwriterbear ... I'm fortunate to know Sean, to have had the opportunity to share events, parties and photography junkets with him. He's off celebrating his birthday among legions of bears in Dallas this weekend at TBRU!

cincydave ... Dave has a blessed life and part of that is a vacation in New York for his birthday! Have fun, my friend! See shows! Eat great meals! Sight-see! Celebrate you and your honey!

bigreddee ... Donovan is a life force to be reckoned with. He's in Barcelona, Spain for his birthday and for that of his partner Fred. Donovan, how fortunate to have the time and means to celebrate your love in such a special place!

blt4success66 .. You're a day earlier than the 3-22 boys, but I don't want a boycott to render your special day meaningless. You've got a lot of dreams, a lot of changes, a lot of challenges ahead of you. My birthday wish is that you take a deep breath and go for your happiness!

Thanks, Sean! I was going to surprise you and bearnight from Minneapolis and show up in Dallas, but I've got to work till late tomorrow and the last thing I could see myself doing alone was driving to Dallas. It's been a really tough day today and my friend Casey is really ill. She's asked me to come to Houston to celebrate my birthday. I don't know what the upcoming weeks will bring our way, so I'm making her a priority, even over celebrating with my family. Hope to see you soon!

Thanks, my friend! As I've said, ithe collective birthdays are Saturday, but there's a lot going on this weekend, so I posted early:) I've told my friends .. yep, it's the day before Easter this year, but at least I'm younger than Jesus. Ha!

Yikes... I'm either a bit obtuse or I'm excessively difficult to offend, but I've just gotten the slightest wind of a strike of some sort? ..what are we protesting ? ... cause if i get no further in ym inquiry in about an hour, I'm going to follow suit and post the Birthday salute I've cooked up for my favorite Aggie tonight ! :0)

The strike will be over by then:) It's for 24 hours and we're posting in the middle of it anyway. Some folks feel very strongly that the new owners of LJ, the powers that be are putting policies into effect that are ruining LJ ... no more free accounts ... censorship ...It began at 8pm Eastern time.

I believe they have some very valid points. I just don't think it's an effective stance .. It's a Friday .. of a holiday weekend .. many folks don't write anyway.

I must have missed something here. I don't know what is going on about boycott, rules, etc. but then I soometimes don't know to come in out of the rain. LOL

Don't worry about it! It's over as of 8pm eastern time today. There are some changes in LJ that many of friends disagree with such as the elimination of free vasic accounts and censorship issues. For the past 24 hours, they have not been blogging or commenting. I hope that their "lack of voices" was heard. I just didn't want my fellow birthday celebrants to be ignored!

Thanks very much! I visit Austin every week, usually Wednesday or Thursday for sales calls. The past two weeks, I've been in the Central Market to buy flowers .. first for my co-worker and then for a resident of my building. It would fun to meet!
