It's the Season of Love...as in Love-bugs:)

For two to three weeks every year, usually late August to mid-September, this part of Texas is inundated with pairs of tiny flying black bugs. For these insects of short duration, their time on earth is spent in one continual act of mating...hence their nickname...Love-bugs.

There seems to be no rhyme or reason for these suicidal bugs, but to be smeared across the grills and windshields of vehicles across Southeast Texas. They appear in great masses, create an incredible mess and then disappear. Random lives spent in reckless screwing:)

When I left Brenham this morning to return to Austin, they had suddenly arrived. One word of advice - if you experience the Love-bugs in your area of the country, as soon as their season is over, wash your vehicle. It's a pain in the ass to get their residue off; but left on your paint job, their body acid will eat away at the finish.

This has been a public service bug warning! LOL!
