mrdreamjeansHowdy friends! I just got back from the gym, my new and surprising commitment. Happily, I'm losing weight, working out and seeing quick and eye-pleasing results.
My fitness trainer, Rich, a transplant from Connecticut 4 weeks ago, is working my butt off (literally and figuratively). I'm cursing myself that I told him that I had never been one of those kids who could do pull-ups during President Kennedy's Fitness Challenge for Kids in the 60s (and yes, I know most of you are too young to remember that:) SO guess what - there happens to be a machine to do that and so, I had to do three sets of chin-ups today and I cursed Rich all the way through the last set:)
I'm back doing laundry and cleaning the apartment up before my friend Steve from Little Rock arrives tomorrow to help me celebrate my upcoming birthday. Two years ago Steve came to Berlin where I was doing "Evita" and celebrated his 50th birthday. He was able to stay 11 days because I was working there and had an apartment. Now he is returning the favor and coming here for mine. Good friends are a treat!
He'll arrive tomorrow at lunch and attend the opening night of the production of "Man of La Mancha" that I'm in and sit with my friend Judy. Afterwards, we'll attend the opening night party (if Steve can keep going; he'll be up at 4:00am to catch the flights to get him here early enough for the events.
I spoke with BarakSF earlier today and am delighted he knows that his Sis is going to have a little boy. It is wonderful news, and knowing Jeanne and Bernie, this special child is so wanted and will be dearly loved by them, not to mention by the proud uncle to be:) News like that brightens everyone's day!
I understand there is a heat-wave in San Francisco. How odd! It's the usual rainy and 50 something degrees here.
Well, I'm off to do another set of crunches and put clothes in the dryer. Amazing - I've gone from no exercise to doing something every time I have a spare second. Results can be addictive:) Ciao!
