Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] texwriterbear. I stayed overnight more places in 2007 than I thought. Course, I stayed in Houston several times as a survival measure on the weekends. All of the other places were parts of two trips: Houston-SF and Brenham-Minneapolis. Otherwise, I was at home. It's the least travel I've done in the past 20 years. That's gonna change!

Houston, TX
Dallas, TX
Fort Worth, TX
Pflugerville, TX
San Francisco, CA
Guerneville, CA
Ardmore, OK
Lenexa, KS
Kansas City, MO
Des Moines, IA
Minneapolis, MN
Madison, WI

creeps me out to realize I spent every night last year in San Francisco. I never took vacation.

Besides Oklahoma City, I spent the night in Bells, TN and Wiley, GA.

I went by Bucksnort, TN and Toad Suck, AR on the trip. :) I stopped at exit 66 in Tennessee. The sign said Brownsville, but the receipt from the Motel 6 said Bells. I looked at the map, and neither town was particularly close to the interstate. The only thing at the exit was the Motel 6 and a gas station, period. My sister gets her mail at the Wiley post office, but their actual location is in Lakemont, GA. Clayton is the nearest "big" town, and my sister used to work in Gainesville, GA. That's more than you needed to know!

It's near Little Rock. Local traditions say the community was named for early inhabitants - be they gamblers or river boatmen - who "sucked up whiskey like toads." The word "suck" in place names often refers to a salt lick or a channel of water. It is a funny name, though. In the past, I've been to Slapout, OK and Bugtussle, OK. (Or at least where Bugtussle used to be.)

Impressive list, though. If God has alotted each of us a certain number of travel experiences, you know darn well I'd give you half of mine (LOL)... you would enjoy them so much more than I do.
Already this summer I'll be off to Lavonia, GA and then the Berkshires in Mass (I'm amassing valium starting now)... I'll have to deluge you with postcards :0)

A deluge of postcards! A lovely thought! I bet if you sat down for 2007 and looked at your calendar, your out-of-town stays would be impressive ...friends and family in California, Ark, GA, Milwaukee, etc ....

Big HUGS!

Been going there for 20 years. It will be my last visit for the foreseeable future. My sister and her husband are divorcing and that's why I've been there so often.
