There Are All Kinds Of Dress-Up
Dec. 3rd, 2007 10:41 amThought I'd share these forgotten photos from my past. It took time to scan and upload them to the computer, but I believe each picture reveals something about me that perhaps my friends don't know. For instance, during the time that I was performing on the cruise ships (as seen in the final two photos), I was constantly being pressured by producers to lose weight. I can't believe I participated in that farce and let them make me feel bad about myself. Ego or not, I think I look pretty damn good! Wish I'd thought so at the time. Enjoy! (Click on the pix to enlarge.)

Age 2 ... Playing dress-up in my dad's hat and coat ...

Age 18 ... Graduation Photo ...
Look at all of that glossy hair!

Age 26 ... In Bermuda ... This
is the most skin I've ever shown
in a photo. It looks like I'm
wearing a fur t-shirt:)

Age 26 ... Performing on Holland
America Cruises ... The last time I
wore white tie and tails:)

Date: 2007-12-03 05:08 pm (UTC)If the producers were after you to lose weight, I can just imagine how brutal they were to the women. Sigh.
That graduation photo seems to be evidence that you may have completed high school at age 15. I'm just sayin'. ;-)
What a handsome guy you are -- and, apparently, always have been!

Date: 2007-12-04 04:26 am (UTC)As to the weight .. I weighed under 180 at the time, slender for my frame. Never quite figured out why they thought I was heavy ... and yes, you're right. It was even more brutal for my women friends.
Thanks for the complment:) Tomorrow, a picture of me from Sunday. A bit different at 53:)

We were 82 on SUnday and over cast ... sunny and 50s yesterday ... By the end of the week, we're back in the 80s .. It's December, for friggin' sakes!
Has the schedule with all of the rehearsals and hockey practices subsided a bit?

Date: 2007-12-03 09:25 pm (UTC)As for needing to loose weight, that's a bogus assumption. You have a unique 'character' face, which, like Dick Van Patton and Paul Giamatii, gives the impression of you LOOKING chubby without you being fat.
As for being hirsute...to quote Mrs.Claus in one of our songs: "So, Santa, better hurry; you know I like 'em furry!"

Have you started performances of The Nutcracker"?

Date: 2007-12-04 04:30 pm (UTC)Well, with a high dose of color contrast thrown in. The 'normal' image - along with the rest of my school year photos can be seen here... I may have posted them, prior to us 'finding' each other. ; )

Date: 2007-12-04 05:00 pm (UTC)Very kind of you to say! ; )
I realized some time back that I was on the improvement track (as opposed to the jocks with whom I went to school, that peaks at eighteen years of age.) I never felt I was much to mention in high school. Perhaps, I was handsome all along and simply my self-perception that evolved...

Date: 2007-12-07 11:09 pm (UTC)Never say you haven't lived! And, as such, you made history.
How many of these wannabe queens can say that about their lives?
Re: like I said
Date: 2007-12-08 04:08 am (UTC)The white tie, tails and tophat has a certain panache .. je ne sais quois quality, don't you think? Hehehe
Hugs from a classic ... queer ... artifact ... relic .. aging piece of history. Good thing I have a strong sense of self!! I'll embrace the Barrymore reference:)

Date: 2007-12-09 02:36 am (UTC)You DO look hot in the beach pix! Slender and killer legs! You were model material, for sure. Yes, and 80s'. Sorry.
The white tails and top hat are fab, too! I said that.
aging piece of history - now, there you go again with that hand on the forehead pose. You love that!
It's all fab! Don't go reading negative stuff into it like a lot of these perennially menstruating queens on here!

Date: 2007-12-09 03:44 am (UTC)I didn't take offense. I thought I was showing growth. LOL!
