First let me send greetings to a man who is handsome and smart; a man of muscles, the largest of which is his heart! Best of all, he's my friend! Happy Birthday to the youngin',
dr_scott! May you celebrate your day in style, surrounded by friends and loved ones!
A #1 hit with me! My nephew Brennan called me up last evening and asked if he could treat his uncle to a movie. I've been taking he and his brothers to the movies for nigh on 20 years, so I was touched that he wanted to take me. The two of us and his twin Ryan saw "Ratatouille". What a wonderful flick!! I was simply amazed at the computer animation, the expression they could bring to characters, the backgrounds. The voice talent was first-rate. When's the last time you saw an animated picture and was actually moved by the story? Yeah, I can't remember either ...(Its quality certainly points out the flaws in the last two animated features I saw, the very tired "Shrek 3" and and the truly awful "Flushed Away".) "Ratatouille" is highly recommended for those four or five people who haven't seen it already:) Next up - "The Simpsons Movie" and "Hairspray".
I saw in
eggwards journal this morning that there is a meme going around which asks the question, "What was the #1 song on the day you were born?" I checked it out. There were two for me, depending on the chart you consult. Both are sort of evocative of my life in general:) The songs? "Secret Love" by Doris Day and "Make Love to Me" by Jo Stafford. Oh, yeah!
