The Handyman Can
Mar. 18th, 2007 09:35 pmIt’s been a delightful weekend ... Very full ... So less lonely when you have a dear friend in your home and you have shorthand ... No explanations ... No compulsion to have to talk. Just someone else in the house for company. You know their likes and dislikes and they know yours ... It’s what I miss the most ... the ease of being with good friends..
Tim came to visit me in Texas at my request. I have so many projects to get done ... so many computer and tech issues to solve ... His expertise is valuable; it’s saved me much money and time to have someone here to help me who I can trust. This weekend alone, Tim set up my DSL, helped me get the old iMAC set up for Mom and Dad to use, fixed my parents’ front door lock and put up the hardware for the drapes that Randy and I didn’t get up a couple of weeks ago. I called Randy to ask a question about the process and he teased me, asking, “Is that the only way you can get men to visit you? Convince them you need help to hang drapes?” Perhaps, it’s truer than I would like to admit:)

Today was the twins’ birthday party and 12 of us gathered at my parents’ house for apple-upside-down cake and French Silk ice cream. Later,Tim and I got the curtains up in the guest bedroom of my house and I did laundry. The best part of the day was that, for my birthday this coming Thursday, Tim gave me a framed picture of three stunning photos he had shot, then matted and framed. I put the collage up in a place of honor. I am really delighted with it! Tonight, we’re just hangin’. It’s early into the office tomorrow where we’ll work on company website updates with my brother ... well, at least Tim will, as only the Handyman can!
