Three Days in a Row

Three days in a row I've awakened at 7:17am, again at 8:37am and 9:31am. I opened one eye, squinted at the clock and thought to myself, I've done it again. What's up with that? The latter time may seem late, but when you go to bed at 1am, it's not so early. Just about right ....

I've always been someone with a strong internal clock. In fact, I went years on the road without a travel clock, setting the alarm on the hotel clock or wearing a watch. The only time I've been late, was after I got a watch and the battery wore out after two years. Often, I decide what time I want to wake up the next day and usually wake up within three to five minutes of the designated time. Of course, now I'm knocking on wood that I won't be late for something today. (I'll save superstitions for another post:)

I know I'm waking up so much because I'm adjusting to Pacific Coast Time again, but I find it interesting that it's been exactly the same times. Or... perhaps, it's the large glasses of green tea I've been drinking:)

Show News, Just Show News

We have a put -in rehearsal for Carmen Yurich this afternoon. Carmen replaces Matthew Kilgore. Matthew is leaving us to begin rehearsals next week for the Los Angeles company of "White Christmas". This is the first "second generation" replacement in "Evita". Matthew replaced Austin Eyres in the same dancer track back in June in Philadelphia. Over the past two performances both of the new Tango Understudies made their debut. Nova Bergeron and Marcos Santana both did a fine job!

Word has it that Kathy Voytko's replacement as Eva, Sarah Litzsinger, is now under contract and will join us in Costa Mesa on Monday. Kathy will open the show as Eva in Baltimore the week of October 25. Thursday or Friday of that week, Sarah will take over as leading lady.

In chronicling the "Evita" Tour, I sometimes think I give the impression that I've not had any fun between San Francisco in March and now in Costa Mesa. My posts, particularly last month with Hurricane Rita the focus, were often sombre. Before too much time passes, I'd like to share a few photos of good times with good people in recent months:) As always, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] gotmoof for his gracious help in posting the pictures!

Girl Friends

Piggybacking in San Diego

Kim Jordan is our Assistant Director. We go back 13 years and she's filling in as a dancer on tour from time to time. Here we're in rehearsal for "The Money Comes Rolling In". I think she was napping while on my back:)

Dipping Candy

Candy Olsen is the tango dancer in "Evita" and a dear friend from "Phantom" days. We surprised everyone when we took to the dance floor when the cast went Salsa dancing in Atlanta. (The picture's courtesy of Joel Briel and a bit blurry as we were moving:)

Puppy Love

Sara Edwards, from Hershey, PA has left the show; Candy's still with the tour. We found this cute little guy on Beale Street in Memphis.

Men in Montreal

Though we put five new people into the show in Montreal, I was fortunate to get to meet Jim and Randy from Upstate New York, Anthony and Mike from Boston and to have long time friend Steve (from Little Rock) stay with me for the week. Steve also introduced me to a good friend of his who lives in the outskirts of Montreal, also a Mike. Five out of seven of us are on live journal:)

Jim [livejournal.com profile] tbone1961 and his steady guy, Randy. Both terrific guys!

Anthony [livejournal.com profile] quietkub and his partner Mike, [livejournal.com profile] ultrahip. It was nice to finally meet the couple. Anthony and I have been online friends for a few months. Mike was new to me.

Steve, [livejournal.com profile] rossbear and his sexy French-Canadian friend, Mike. Mike's a bodybuilder and works in law enforcement.

Cincinnati... Without WKRP

[livejournal.com profile] chrisglass at the Cheesecake Factory in Cincinnati. It was great to finally meet one of my favorite photographers on Live Journal. He's a great guy and I came away from this lunch feeling like I'd made a new friend!
