Last evening was my introduction to the handsome, intelligent and charming BearArchitect who is in town for his parents' 50th anniversary. We met in the early evening, went out for Mexican food and then went dancing at the Brazos River Bottom, the CW club which has been at the same location in Houston for over 30 years. We had a wonderful time.

Thanks to the information shared on live journal, conversation was comfortable and easy from the get-go; the shared stories and similar experiences, entertaining; we laughed a lot and our dancing compatibility was top-notch. It's been a long time since I enjoyed someone's company so much.

It was a full moon last night and the stars were shining brightly.... a perfect setting for a new friendship:) Fernando you are an impressive man, but then I'm not telling anyone who knows you anything new:)! Here's to our next meeting!

This is an example of what livejournal.com does best - creating a forum in which you are given the opportunity to know other men and women who like to communicate their thoughts, feelings and opinions and share them with others in open dialog, through the written word. I never thought I'd appreciate this site, but I do. It is like that special feeling you used to get when a friend sent you a long, handwritten letter; in that moment, you had the opportunity for discovery.

I'm a happy camper today!

That's great Neil!

I'm glad you found someone to have fun last night. That is what I'm hoping to partake as time moves along.

Thanks for posting.

O'neil, I'm taking a breather from the party, checking my emails and peeking into LiJo, pleasantly surprised to see your entry. Last night I enjoyed myself thoroughly in your company, don't you dare visit the east coast without letting me know, we must go out again...

p.s. hope your mom is better from the fall.

(beaming) Have no doubts! I hope the anniversary dinner went well and that your toast brought sentimental tears and smiles to the gathering:) You'll hear from me whilst you are baking poolside before you return to Baltimore.

Mom is fine. She decided to feed Cheerios left over from gotmoof's visit to some birds that have made our home theirs. She crossed the drive and as she walked down the slope, she stepped in a low spot and turned her ankle; she got to her knees and tried to pull herself up but couldn't.(yes - it is too similar to I've fallen and I can't get up.")

Our new neighbor saw her distress, stopped, helped her up and got Dad from the house. He was inside, asleep as usual in front of the television (this was at 6;30pm and he had been dozing there, except for bathroom breaks, from noon on). If I was a less caring son, I'd now sing a chorus of "Feed the Birds" from Mary Poppins.

I am making light of the situation because Mom isn't hurt, but it also confirms both her and my fear that Dad might not be able to be there if she needs him. There has to be a shift in our thinking and how we plan for extingencies/contingencies.

Talk to you soon! Hugs!
