New trend for rich folks with disposable income, fat cats and portly pooches...... Pet Liposuction.... It's true:)

How many Americans are unemployed and without health insurance due to the "fat cats"?

Both suck....

Driving through San José a few weeks ago, we saw a van for a Pet Chiropractor.

My 150 lb. faithful buddy, Max, passed away a 18 months ago. He was a very handsome G.S....broad shoulders, wide toothy grin, and very friendly. He had been my best pal for 15 years. During the last two years of his life I employed a "doggy nurse" to visit daily and weekly chiropractor visits to help maintain his quality of life. He died of natural causes on November 10, 2002 at home in my arms. No regrets...

Not my intention...

My apologies if I offended you or was insensitive. My dismay was over the idea of liposuction for pets. The articles I read describe the procedure as cosmetic, with the owners ignoring the health signals sent out by the dogs and cats obesity; once the procedure was done, the owners did nothing to change the diet that causes the problem in the first place.

I applaud proper care of a pet. I treasure our golden retriever mix, Dixie, and will do everything in my power to make sure she has the best of care as she ages (she's 12); that includes being smart about her diet and exercise and regular visits to the vet.

I believe you did the right thing for Max. I'm sorry that you lost your bud....

I got Max as a one year old dog from the local pound. He was very handsome, friendly, and on "the list" to be put down. I balked at the thought of adopting such a large dog....but the attendant assured me large dogs were no more "work" than smaller breeds. HA! Max was a "three bag" dog who shed constantly. My housekeeper claims she has a coat made out of his fur! He went to school with me everyday for eleven years and listened to more emergent/beginning readers than I can image. My children LOVED him! Max enjoyed are summers on the Belgian coast...playng on the beach and having dinner under the table at restuarants. He was such a polite and well behaved dog. We even took a cruise together a few years ago. Sailing the Adriatic and roaming the streets of Venice.

Many fond memories....I miss him very much.

P.S. I haven't adopted another dog.
