A Twist on the Movie Meme
Apr. 21st, 2007 09:48 amI don't get to the movies much, as I don't like to go alone. I won't attend horror flicks or films with violence. My interest in action movies is limited unless they are fanciful, so I was curious what my spontaneous answers to the movie meme floating around would be.
Yesterday, USA Today did a feature on films being released between now and the end of the Summer. In a selection of about 100 movies, I was amused that I was attracted to seeing so few of them. Here are the movies I might attend. How many of these would attract you?
1. Georgia Rule - Jane Fonda, Felicity Huffman and Lindsay Lohan
2. Once - A Sundance audience winner, described as a modern day musical about an Irish street musician and an Eastern European immigrant.
3. Shrek the Third - I loved the first two, but is three a charm?
4. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End - I liked the second less than the first; but want to see the loose ends tied up. Chow Yun-Fat joins the cast.
5. Spiderman III - I'll see it, but after this one, I'm done.
6. Evan Almighty - I'll give Steve Carell another shot. I hated The 40 Year Old Virgin, but know he did good work in Little Miss Sunshine
7. Ratatouille - It's from Pixar and has voicing by Peter O'Toole and Brad Garrett.
8. Introducing the Dwights - Australian comedy starring Brenda Blethyn (one of my favorites).
9. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
10.Hairspray - Though it has the earmarks of a disaster with John Travolta as Edna, I'll see it.
11.The Simpsons Movie - I'm there!
12.Becoming Jane - Anne Hathaway as Jane Austen. It might be better with Jane Hathaway, but I might see it:)
A film I definitely will not see this summer:
I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry - In this flick, Kevin James and Adam Sandler are two Brooklyn firefighters who pretend to be Gay in order to get health benefits. Yuck! Get me the disinfectants!
and now for the results of my meme ... cut to spare the disinterested:).

Date: 2007-04-22 11:52 pm (UTC)Have you seen My Wife Maurice (French)? It's kinda fun. I finally got around to Latter Days last month and thought it was so worth it, cuz when soft porn is your type, it is. I could eat that end-to-end! And yes, it means I need to get out more! Sigh, 1 more week and I can do that.
Hope all's well there! HUG!
