In addition to the job news, there's more good news here in Brenham. About two weeks ago, the neuro-psychologist tested Dad for his driving. It was a video test developed by the trucking industry for all drivers. Dad did well in four of the five categories, especially in execution. He failed one portion, "searching skills", but was on the line in the scoring. The doctor referred Dad to a PHD (in transportation) from the university who is also a certified driving instructor. Dad drove with him yesterday for two hours and was evaluated; the result was that Dad was found to be a safe driver ... to himself and others ... This is great news because my 6 months of chauffering can come to an end. I no longer have to do all of the driving! YAY!
Since my mother's back surgery, she has lost 15lbs. This means in the past five years, she's gone from a clothing size 20W to 18, 16 and now sometimes, a size 14W. It means a lot less pressure on her back and every day, she is walking better. Yesterday, I took 17 items to a consignment shop for her and donated another 30 pieces to a Thrift Shop. I'm hoping that there are several women out of there who will benefit during this holiday season from Mom's desire to be more healthy and fit. The clothes are beautiful and next to new.
Maybe, we will have a Merry Christmas ....
