The long holiday weekend is over, but I'm going to stay in the Austin area for a couple of more days. My sister has an appointment in College Station tomorrow, so she's going to drive my folks home. I have an appointment with a dermatologist here on Tuesday; I'm still having major problems with my skin; stress is taking a visible toll on me. I hope to have answers this time around or at least visit a dermatologist who will stick with me till a solution is found.

I'm also going to take our dog Dixie to the vet here in Pflugerville. She's favoring a leg and we suspect an injury to it or her hip. I also want to have her eyes checked and make sure all of her shots are up to date. She's 14 and much loved.

After a miserable day with my Dad yesterday (his blood sugar reading in the morning was over 200 which usually brings on a personality change), today was better. Part of the problem was me ... and my patience level. I got up at 4:20am on Saturday to take my brother-in-law to the airport for a 6am flight and was out-of-sync the remainder of the day. Today, I was more rested and able to handle the daily challenge that is Dad. Colleen, Cait and her boyfriend John decorated the Christmas tree; we watched pro football and ate some tasty king ranch chicken casserole for dinner (one of my favorites)! All in all, I guess it's a blessing to have had three out of four days be good. After Tuesday, it's back to the employment search and to taking care of Mom. I'm going to keep positive thoughts that my life, personal and professional, is about to change for the better.

Oh, the long holiday isn't over....

The season has just started. I for one will be checking into the looney bin before it is over. You, my friend, need a serious change of pace. Hopefully the winds of change will blow in your favor before much longer. Drama is great on stage, in the home, not so good. As a diversion, have you ever thought about voice coaching? It isn't as permanent as taking on a student, yet will allow you to remove yourself from the other dimension for at least a little bit. Besides, the pocket change feels good. :)

Big hugs from the land of fruits and nuts!

I think you need another trip up north here so we Madison bears can take car of YOU and let you relax and recover. :)

It still sounds like you're running yourself ragged. :( I see the same toll you describe happening to my cousin taking care of my aunt. You so deserve some good you time to recharge and regenerate.

Anyway, Hugs and healing vibes from the Madison area!
