Just What the Doctor Ordered ...
Oct. 17th, 2006 04:00 pmEveryone in the
perkk household returned to their normal schedule after a busy weekend of events.
gotmoof and I had lunch yesterday before I drove him to work; I wanted to see the Target where Tim works (the largest I've ever seen). It's nice to place your friends in the workplace ... to be able to visualize the setting when they share stories of their work day. After dropping Tim off, I followed a map he had drawn for me and found the Mall of America. I am now in possession of wonderful photos from this past weekend's events, my main task for the day:)
The highlight of my day happened at the mall. When I entered the MOA near Bloomingdales, I looked down a level and saw that there was a book- signing in progress. Elisabeth Edwards is the wife of North Carolina senator John Edwards and has written an inspirational book called "Saving Graces". My folks and I watched Ms Edwards and her family's recent appearance on "Oprah" and were impressed by her message. (The Edwards family had gone through the death of their teenage son in a car accident and Ms Edwards' diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer.) I bought her book, stood in line and had it autographed for my mother. Ms Edwards chatted with me for a few minutes ... was empathetic ... warm ... charming.
After dinner with
perkk and
sethlan, tasty pizza, (Thanks John for treating
perkk and me), I watched a bit of television and headed back to Plymouth to pick up Tim at work. He was finished about 11:15pm and then had to open this morning. Everyone's out and about now, off to work. I'm luxuriating in just being lazy ... I slept in ... watched the morning programs ... I have no agenda. Just what the doctor ordered:)

Date: 2006-10-17 09:01 pm (UTC)It's not too crowded during a weekday or weeknight. Even so, when all is said and done, there's really nothing special about it.

The occasional eyecandy is a bonus.
