The odd social agendas are why education reform and funding still hasn't been decided. Wrong priorities. The homophobic attitude of Perry and others in the legislature will drive Fortune 500 companies away from the state because their employment and insurance policies are more enlightened. I'm split on pay raises for the legislature. Unless we make the elected full time servants and reasonable compensate them for their time away from their jobs (we are dead last in what we pay our elected reps), I don't think we'll get the kind of focus and understanding it takes to solve all of these tough issues. In ten years, these same immigrants and poor will be the vast majority in Texas..an uneducated, underemployed workforce... jobs will go fly out of Texas...there will be no one who can do them.
