Being the non-tech man that I am, I am using my friend Dave's Dell desktop in Seattle and having trouble checking my mail. I keep getting a warning message when I sign onto AOL through his MSN dial-up; it says I can't read my mail because the cookies are disabled.

Who knew? As an devotee of sweets, I can't quite put my mind around the idea of how anyone could handicap a cookie. I mean, how could anyone hurt an innocent cookie? Or, should I eat the cookies to put them out of their misery?

If I enable the cookies, will I actually be giving them a better life, or will I just be helping them descend into a slippery slope of milk-dipping... throwing ingredients together that shouldn't be allowed to mix... allowing them to be, (gasp) store-bought rather than home-made? Am I being an enabler through my addiction to chocolate-chip cookies and discarding or ignoring the appeal of others?

Oh... wait a minute...What? You say "enabling cookies" is a computer term... that there is a solution to my problem if I just knew what I was doing....

Never mind:)
