A very dear friend of my adores thunderstorms (Can we say gotmoof?), but I'm really not enjoying the severe ones here....as I've said, I'm house-sitting and not sure where everything is or how it works.
The Austin area is in the midst of its third storm in 2 1/2 days; we've had several close lightning strikes. An ambulance and two firetrucks just came racing by the house. We've had 70 mph winds buffeting the house and several inches of rain in a very short period of time. The television has gone out twice and the electricity once. My saving grace - the DSL line is working as it should:)
I'm worried about the horses huddled under the shelter at the back of the barn, but they have to have access to the water trough; there is no water at the individual stalls. Hopefully, they'll have sense enough (and me too) to stay out of the storm till it's over.
I'm supposed to be having a calm, quiet retreat in the country, right:)? ...ooops...There's the sound of sirens close by again....Gotta go!
