The Night Was Still Young
Nov. 4th, 2004 10:00 pmI may never have the opportunity again in my lifetime to be at a presidential rally on election night. I was there after my performance of "Evita" with fellow cast mates Victoria Matlock and Rachel Cohen. The photo of the three of us was taken right after they announced that California went to Senator Kerry. The air was filled with possibilities of victory! How sad that just hours later, "Evita" cast member Chris Regan was one of twelve people in attendance when John Edwards spoke briefly from the stage....course, it was 2:30am, cold and raining by then:)

In the second photo, you can see how massive the stage and background was at the Boston Public Library in Copely Square. There were tens of thousands of people standing around and listening to the music. It felt like a street party. I am saddened by the outcome of the election and especially the widening majority for Republicans in Congress, but it will change. We have to make it change on the local level!

The third and fourth photos show the lobby and house of The Colonial Theatre in Boston. Tonight is our third and final preview. Tomorrow the press will attend and it is the official opening night of our National Tour. We were given notes this afternoon on last night's preview by Hal Prince. We have an early curtain tonight. My brother-in-law Wayne is in town, so I will have a family supporter in the audience tonight! YAY!
