It wasn't until I was 13 or so before I began to like egg-nog. My mother, on the other hand, was a fiend for the stuff.

Rosettes, on the other hand, were a favorite of mine. Think of a very thin, very crisp pastry with powdered sugar sprinkled on it. It's made with a very thin batter, into which a special mold or iron is dipped and then that's dunked into hot oil. One of the Swedish Grannies at church always made batches for everyone.

Note to self: Do not attempt to read humor at 5:00 in the morning. I read that as The History of Eggnog and Ninestrone. I was about to go 'ewwwwwww', when I re-read it. Now to get that piece of toast out of my nose. :)
