Oddities

My dream last night was not based in fact. I had gone to work as I had for years in a big corporation in a high rise building in Seattle. I was busy ... busy doing nothing. The executive management suddenly discovered I had been on the payroll for more than a decade and actually didn't do a lick of work. I just moved from office-to-office cheering people up, making them laugh. My co-workers were sorry to see me fired. I shrugged my shoulders and told the screaming executives it was their loss, that company morale would tank. I packed up my desk and calmly exited the building. I do think corporations can use emotional "fluffers" if you will ... people whose only role is to make peoples' days a bit brighter.

I ordered photo enlargements on Costco's website and they arrived yesterday. My pictures were enclosed; but also included was a slew of photos of a random family from India. I have no idea who these people are, but somewhere there's a family who isn't getting their photos in the mail. I'll probably call Costco, but I doubt there's anything to be done.

UPDATE: I called Costco customer service and spoke with an agent. The photos that weren't mine have been reported. There was a slip of paper inside the packing envelope that contained the name of the man who ordered the photos and the order number. Also, he had paid for expedited shipping. Costco has that information now, can reprint the photos and mail them to the correct person. I find it somewhat ironic that the customer service agent was in Canada; the photos were printed in South Carolina, the agent and owner of the erroneously shipped photos were both from India and I live in Minneapolis. I wonder if Costco will come to regret pulling their photo labs from their warehouse stores.
