You Can Eat off the Floors
Jul. 4th, 2005 04:32 pmHappy Independence Day! As we celebrate this holiday, let’s just hope that the crack in the liberty bell isn’t symbolic of the upcoming battle to replace Sandra Day O’Connor on the Supreme Court. If it is, then let us proudly battle for our rights and the freedom to choose the life we wish to lead. May our current leaders be aware that our Founding Fathers bickered endlessly; but In the end, they came together and put documents into place that have stood the test of time. In the coming weeks, may voices of sanity, reason and wisdom triumph over partisan politics ...
In honor of the July 4th holiday, I decided to bake. (How's that for a transition:) I spend all of my time eating in restaurants, but I do know how to cook and bake. I just don’t often take the time to do so:) This afternoon, I decided to do something fun. I took an old family cupcake recipe and baked the batter in ice cream cones (the cup kind) and decorated them with white butter frosting and red, white and blue sprinkles. If nothing else, I’m a patriotic dessert maker. HA!
