Evening folks! Thanks so much to the two gentlemen who wrote and welcomed me to livejournal.com. I appreciate the encouragement. Tim wrote at length about our busy day, so I won't go on too much, except to say we really worked hard and saw positive results. We knew we were having a great, productive day when Tim put his expensive sunglasses on the bumper of my truck while we were loading containers from his previous storage unit; he forgot to get them; 10 miles later he realized where he had left them and had given them up as lost. To our surprise, they were on the bumper when we made our next stop. I guess that says a lot about the smooth ride of my Dodge Quad Cab truck:)
I'm staying an extra day, leaving for Texas on Thursday. We accomplished so much in one day, that I decided Tim can finish up tomorrow if he just has another set of hands and support. We made a pact today that every time either of us moves, that the other will come and assist. We are uncommon friends and I like our loyalty for the past eight years and going forward.
Tim and I introduced each other to all of our closest friends during our time as partners. Luckily, we now have created a network of wonderful folks who are in both of our lives. As I travel doing theatre, I have often called upon this network and have been rewarded and supported.
Keith in Minnesota asked me about my theatre work. For close to 10 years I traveled as a singer/actor in Phantom of the Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar and most especially Evita. I'm not the biggest fan of Andrew Lloyd Webber, but I am grateful for all of the employment:)
Keith, I just finished playing Joe Boyd in Damn Yankees in the Seattle area and will be playing the Padre in Man of La Mancha next Spring for the same theatre. In between, I'll be doing a Christmas production of The Wizard of Oz for the second year in a row. The 2002 production was in the Houston; the 2003 one is in Seattle. Good luck with the initial season of your production company and enjoy the process of playing the roles you are about to do. I've sung "This is the Moment" at many a fundraiser for Phantom over the years and reviewed the initial production of Jekyl and Hyde for a Houston weekly I was writing for in 1989. (I'm dating myself:) I still believe the premiere was by far the best production of the show; after that, too many hands stirred the pot and diminished the work before it got to Broadway. Just my opinion.....
Ciao for now! I'll check in once more before hitting the road again Thursday morning. Interstate 35 here I come!
