I'm making a list, checking it twice, gonna find out who's naughty or nice (or is that naughty and nice? :)

What is the favorite endearment that you've ever been called? If you had one adjective to describe yourself, what would it be?

...and no, Santa Claus is not coming to town in July:) LOL!

I was thinking more along the lines of "Muffin Man" or "Renaissance Man", "honey", "studly" or such:) Perhaps, I'll delete this post, as I am curious, but not in a comment whoring kind of way.

A friend of mine calls me "Fuzzyhead." He's the only one to do that. Since he's the only one to do it, when I hear it, I think of our friendship. He also says to me, "Oh, Betty," which causes me to giggle, since it stems from some private joke that neither of us remember.

The adjective thing stumps me. I've been lately describing my fatter self as "20% cuddlier."

So what's YOUR favorite endearment and adjective?

You may be making the lists and all, buy you've a long way to go before you're mistaken for Santa Claus; that's MY racket. I've been mistaken for Santa since I was 45. In fact, being referred to as "Santa Bear" is one of the few endearments thrown my way in the past couple of years (OK... so he was roaring drunk and had literally bumped into me while attempting to navigate to a bar stool. Drunken, slurred appolgies count, don't they?).

I've also been called "Woofy Daddy Bear", which was VERY good for the ego, but which I try not to take seriously.

I'm trying desparately to remember what, if any endearments, my partner has come up with. The last one he tried was a badly orchestrated attempt to spice up our love life by styling me as his "sex slave". Had he not meant it literally, I might have gone for it.

I have been refered to as babe by a gent I was chatting all the time with but I've also been refered to as dearheart, once, (by lowfatmuffin) and of course sweetheart, or "your so sweet" or some such.

Dear, hon, are two that a good friend calls me at least part of the time.

I think that's all there is at this time, if I think of any others, I'll be sure to let you know. :-)

i am called sugarbitch or pastryitch by some of my favorite people. my ex called me pastrybitch, and my good friend kathryn, who was a sous chef where i was the pastry chef in austin called me sugarbitch, and it knd of stuck.

As you can probably well imagine, I've been called many things by many people. Love, dear, and sweetheart are some of my favorites. I think I could get used to Daddy.

On an early episode of Six Feet Under, a girlfriend introduces herself as his fuck puppet. I like that.

Well, this is Baltimore and we call everyone "Hon". My best friend and I call each other "Sheneequa" and "Shenaynay", in tribute to the 12-year old black girls trapped our bodies. They only emerge as Selves (a la Sybill) when we hear a great tune from the past on the dance floor. "Got To Be Real" by Cheryl Lynn will do it every time. In bed, I have been called "Oh-Sweet- Jesus-Daddy-Do-It-Again" but that's kinda long to put on a business card.

Two examples of endearments come to mind... one sublime and one silly. I once was regularly called "beloved" and it meant the world to me because it was sincere. On the other end of the scale, I had a partner, who let's say was overly enthusiastic. In the midst of passion, he would regularly call me "Daddy" (odd since he was older), "Cowboy" or "Sir!". I kind of liked the variety and tried to live up to the labels.

However, one day in a particularly athletic encounter, he strung them all together... "Oh yeah, Give it to me Cowboy, Daddy, Sir!" I burst out laughing... and told him in my best Texas twang, "Bubba, I can handle, even enjoy any of these labels one at a time, but all three at one time is just too much to live up to!" (grin) Let's say it deflated the moment:)

My favorite adjective for myself? I would have to say "honorable". I could make other choices that cover the gamut, but that is the one of which I would be most proud.

If "Oh - Sweet-Jesus-Daddy-do-it-again" doesn't fit on a business card, how about printing tickets? That would fit...LOL!

Btw, I love to read your political rants and raves! Just knowing someone out there feels like I do keeps me going:) If I had to describe with one word ( the you I know from your journal), I would say "passionate". Thanks for commenting!

Names, names, names!

Well, my name here in Live Journal land is one, take aways the MN part. CuddleCub is a nickname given to me by my first boyfriend, and has stayed with me as one of my main online names (used in any arena I don't mind people knowing about the "gay side" of Keith :o) Funnily enough though, that same person who gave me that name changed gears and started calling me "LittleCub" in response to me calling him my "BigBear", and to this day he sticks with that name when conversing with me.

Another fun one is, back in my high school years I worked at Target, and I'd wear this ScoobyDoo hat I had. That in combination with my relatively good ScoobyDoo impression earned me the name "Scooby". It even got to the point that some of the workers didn't even know my real name! It's really funny to hear over the speakers at target "Scooby to aile 5 for guest assistance please, Scooby to aile 5" :o)

Besides that the only other one I can remember is for a while I was refereed to as James my middle name. Which I'm thinking about reclaiming as my "Stand-up name" IF I decide to do it.

Just got back from our Kerry fundraiser meeting. I think it's going to be a lot of fun (and a lot of work) but we all agreed on two things:

1. Being pro-active beats bitching about the current admininstration.

2. If we can get at least 10 people to vote who've never voted before, we'll be a success!

I can owe up to the "Daddy Bear" part; I have difficulty buying into being "woofy".

Very few endearments have been applied to me. I don't have any nicknames, except for "Bruin" which I made up for myself as a nom de plume.

I don't use them often toward my partner, either, due mostly to his "hands off" personality (Yes, I married a Vulcan). I am, however, one of the few people on the planet permitted to call him "Nap", as opposed to his full name of Napoleon. Obviously, I earned a few points early on.

my best friend "Merengue" (I gave him that name, it's a lively dance and also a sweet confection, because he can be complex yet delicate at the same time, not necessarily 'puffy', tho) gave me "Fandango" and I liked it from that moment on. You musicologists may know it as one of the dances from Spain, in three quarter time, popular , yes! But not elevated to stuffiness, as becoming part of the Baroque suite -like its counterparts the chaconne and the passacaglia-. Plus, it rhymes with mango, my favorite fruit.

The three f's -"Five Fingers of Fury"- have been used to describe my other, well, shall we say, talents... hee
