What are the odds?

Last Friday, Channel 11 interrupted its "regular programming" with a news bulletin: Martha Stewart was sentenced to five months in jail.

The regular programming was Martha Stewart Living.

Apple Boycott Fails to Quell Call to True Believers - Macworld Conference and Expo returned to Boston last week and was the most enjoyable East Coast Macworld in recent memory, according to Bob Levitus. Apple expressed its displeasure over the move from NYC by boycotting the show entirely - no Apple booth, no Steve Jobs keynote, etc.

Said, Levitus, "Conferences were better than ever.... aisles were jammed on the show floor"... every vendor he talked to said the show exceeded expectations. The MAC community wanted this show! Betcha Steve Jobs and Apple are there next year:)

Merriam - Webster Online's 10 Favorite Words for 2004:

1) defenestration
2) serendipity
3) onomatopoeia
4) discombobulate
5) plethora
6) callipygian
7) juxtapose
8) persnickety
9) kerfuffle
10) flibbertigibbet

I have a particular affection for #6 on the list. Callipygian means "having shapely buttocks".

I believe I shall now go get my hair cut, eat lunch at a "guilty-pleasure hole-in-the-hole - Filips Barbecue in Sealy, Texas (it's a barbecue place run by members of a Chinese church) and keep my eyes open for a callipygian individual who is easy on the eyes!

My favorite word for today is "commonsensical". Is your favorite word for 2004 on this top-ten list or do you have a nomination?

ps.... Spell Check couldn't identify some of the words on the list. LOL!

Oddly enough I've used 'defenestration', ME!
A client wanted too many windows in his house, I told him i love windows too, but there is a thing called Energy Calculations that building officials look into to see if the house is becoming an energy waster (unfortunatelly, windows are the best at that). So I said we needed to defenestrate it. He looked at me like I was ready to castrate him!!! *shrug*

One of my very favorite words is callipygian. I shall endeavor to use it more freely in conversation, in honor of your posting.
