I couldn't sleep at my house the first 10 days because the owner needed to replace the hot water heater.

I couldn't sleep in my house for 2 1/2 weeks because I had no privacy.

I didn't sleep in my house this week because my bed and boxsprings were still at my folks. No one to help me move them.

Abracadabra! The hot water heater works great; the curtains are up thanks to [livejournal.com profile] tbone1961's honey, Randy; my mattress is finally in the new house with the help of my brother Jeff and nephew Ryan! It's been nearly a month of working on the new house and then returning to my folks to sleep and bathe. I'm done with that! Tonight I sleep in the house on Sycamore Street! YAY!

Upcoming projects: Working in the yard; organizing the office; finding a place for my large collections of books and music; and rediscovering what a clothes horse I've been:) Old Houses have small closets!!

As I'm reading this, the water heater upstairs is being replaced, water everywhere upstairs, luckily we were unscathed. Except our water has been turned off for a few hours. Oh well, a minor inconvenience. Must be Uranus square Neptune or something.

Consider this the virtual version of me knocking on your door with a loaf of bread and some salt.

Congrats!

Happy First Night in Home Sweet Home !!
Glad to hear you've finally reached this wonderful point.
As for closet space... does this mean a trip to IKEA for a new armoire ?

Big hugs !

Both you and I who face smaller, older closets need to share our probably outdated, don't-fit-anymore clothes with someone else. I've only been in my house for five years come April so you'd think I'd have resolved some of those issues of where to put things and how to consolidate. My biggest issue is books. It's just a chore I hate dealing with, I reckon. Anyway I am so glad you're really situated in your new abode.

I've got a beautiful armoire and dresser and mirror that haven't been moved yet. They are huge pieces and I'll have to have professionals move them. They'll stay in my folks house for the time being.

Hope tech has gone well! Big HUGS!

The problem I've had is that I don't change sizes much. I'm also not hard on clothes. I've got items that look new and they're 25 years old. My dresser and armoire are too large to move easily, so I"m not moving them from mom and dad's until I close on this house. Even then, I don't know where I'm going to put the dresser. No walls long enough in the whole house. Oh well... It's a nice problem to have:)

I can't wait for you to see the place when I get it all completed! HUGS!
