Deep in the Heart of Texas

mrdreamjeansThe Grand Move is done! Tim and I pulled into Brenham about 6:30 pm. Miles for the double move - 4744 miles. Seattle - SF - Seattle - La Crosse - Brenham. We spent nights in Couer d'Alene, Idaho; Sheridan, Wyoming; Mitchell, South Dakota; 3 nights in La Crosse, Wisconsin; Lenexa, Kansas and Ardmore, Oklahoma. The mileage on the trip odometer when we hit Texas was surprisingly 4444:)
Tim and I stopped in Dallas for lunch and had a delightful time with Tim's friend Donald (woofytexan) for a couple of hours. Donald is truly a gentleman and a fun spirit. I am happy to know him!
We pulled in front of my parents' home in the countryside outside Brenham, Texas, population 12,000, and were greeted with the sight of my folks sitting in two white rockers on the porch of their stone house...Mom pulling out a camera to capture the return of the adventurous duo.
Tim got the grand tour of their new home; we unloaded the front of the truck to get stuff out of the heat (our first of the whole move...88 degrees:) and sat down to a dinner of pot roast, potato salad, fresh green beans, sliced tomatoes and banana cake with chocolate peanut butter frosting for dessert:) I will have to get back on my eating and exercise plan in a hurry:)
Dad and Tim are watching TV in the living room as I write this. Mom headed to bed early. All feels right with my world tonight, as we are here safely. To all of you who kept in touch during our complicated double move and sent you good wishes and advice, the Divine Bovine and I thank you!!!
